How Ravo works
Pick your harbor
Choose your harbor on Lake Erie or Lake St. Clair and see who teaches there this season.
Book a lesson
Grab an instant slot from an instructor who's out today, or lock in a future date — booking opens for the 2027 season.
Learn on your boat
Every lesson happens on your own boat, at your own dock, with your own systems.
Trust & safety
Booking a stranger to teach you something new is a big step. Here's how we make it safer.
Liability waiver required
When booking opens for the 2027 season, every first lesson with a new instructor will require a signed waiver before the booking is confirmed.
All communication stays on Ravo
Phone numbers and emails are never shared. Every message and booking detail stays protected inside the platform.
Cancellation policies up front
Each instructor sets their own cancellation and weather policy, and you'll see it clearly before you book. No surprises.
You choose, always
No algorithm picks for you. You see real profiles, real rates and real reviews, and you decide who to hire.
For instructors
Your rate. Your calendar. Their boat.
No business to build. No marketing to figure out. Flip on availability when you want to teach — and off when you don't.
Ravo is for experienced boaters — captains, lifelong sailors, anyone with real skill on the water — who'd happily teach a lesson but would never go build a client base to do it. Teach one Saturday a month, a slow week at work, or while you're traveling. There's no minimum, no commitment, and no boat of your own required — you always teach on the client's vessel.
- Your contact details stay private — all messaging happens inside Ravo.
- Build your profile now, be bookable the day the season opens.
Free to join. No subscription, no signup fee, no cost to you — ever.

Post it on Facebook, text it, email it. People who already know you can book and pay properly through Ravo — waiver signed, schedule confirmed, money handled — instead of a handshake deal at the dock.
Money
- Set your own hourly rate — Ravo never dictates your pricing.
- Optional group rates when you're teaching more than one learner.
- Optional multi-session package pricing.
- Earn extra with the travel fee system if you'll go beyond your core area.
Flexibility
- Flip "Available Now" on when you're free, off when you're not.
- Set a recurring weekly schedule, with one-off date overrides for exceptions.
- No boat of your own required — you always teach on the client's boat.
- Set your own minimum booking length.
Protection
- A liability waiver is required before every first lesson with a new client.
- All communication stays on the platform — your phone number and email are never shared.
- You set your own cancellation and weather policy, shown clearly before anyone books.
Grows on its own
- After every completed lesson, Ravo automatically asks your client for a review — you never chase it down.
- Reviews and completed-lesson count build your reputation automatically over time.
- A referral system lets you invite other instructors.
Get found, without doing the work yourself
"Built by a USCG-licensed captain with 30 years on the water, who got tired of watching great instructors go unfound."
